How do you get smooth shadows on both pages and the table?
In the light options you can set shadow color, amount and diffusion. So i messed around with those values until i got a more realistic looking shadow. But you need to mkae sure in your light that you tell it to cast shadows.
nice work !
thank u brad for sharing
Thx… really nice tuts…. :bd
you will have some problems if you decide to move your camera later. For example try to get a look from left side. To fix this- instead of switching from one layer to another when they're at 90degrees – i would suggest to put two layers close together with a few pixels between them. Basically making one- the front of the page – other-back of the page. This way you can move around your camera without a problem – of course as long as bender works (looks) right. I did a similar magazine animation (http://vimeo.com/9266113) using CC Page Turn. But your solution might even be better because Page Turn doesn't support Motion Blur and you either have to fake it with force motion blur (which is slooooow) or live without it.
No video. Can´t access episode.
I am currently switching over all videos to a new host, The podcast feed is up be the web player may be down for a few more days.
Love the AE tutorials! Really helpful. Did you use an equation and a null object for the "floating" the camera does while its over the magazine? (where it floats back and forth instead of a still camera shot)
Yes that is a looping wiggle on the null that is parented to the camera.
