After over a year of talking about a new version of ChurchMediaDesign.tv it is finally here. I custom built our previous site in flash, with a full content management system. It worked well at that time, but my vision for CMD was bigger and that website was not going to cut it. So after a busy holiday season I started in on the new site.
I wanted to move away from flash to something more mobile friendly and something that could grow in any direction, so I choose WordPress. WordPress is great because it is free and has a huge amount of plugins to meet your every need. The problem is there are to many plugins. It is like the iTunes App store. You begin to ask yourself, which twitter app is the best? Is there a cool game I don’t know about? Am I using this to it’s fullest potential?
It can be overwhelming. So after countless Google searches, rss feeds and Twitter conversations I found the basic plugins I need to make CMD run. Check them out:

- Better Blogroll – For the Resources page
- FD Feedburner Plugin – Feedburner integration
- Featured Content Gallery – Featured Story area on home page
- Google Analyticator – Stats
- Search Everything – Increases WordPress search functionality
- Twitter Tools - twitter integration
- Viper’s Video Quicktags – embeds jwplayer for all videos
- WP-PageNavi – pagination
- WP Super Cache – speeds up site by caching content
- Yet Another Related Posts Plugin – related posts

This is Awesome! nice work Brad. We have been following you since last year and missing you for the last 2 months. We always visit your site every now and then and all we see is the Hillsong episode. We are a small church here in UK that really benefits from your show. Keep it up. We are currently creating our site by wordpress and has been stucked there for almost half a year.We are newbie and cannot afford to pay a webdesigner. Hey Brad. Looks great! Spent mucho time last year researching blog, website CMS. I woulda gone WordPress too. Joomla & Drupal seem more complex. Also props > I see you got some adds over on AE Tuts+ with Topher Welsh(48 After Effects Tutorials online ). Very Cool! Congrats!
