I love the ProPresenter4 sync. Is there a way to make it a one-way sync? I would like to build playlists, templates, etc. on one machine on our main campus and sync out to our multi-sites, but not have changes they make sync back to the main campus. Is that possible?

Can you tell how the sync speed compares with Dropbox? Are there any other drawbacks you've found yet?

This is awesome! Though I'm unable to sync playlists and song files due to the fact that the different rooms have different groups using ProPresenter, I'm at least able to sync my vast media library which has been a huge problem trying to make sure all 5 computers are up to date. I've got it set up and syncing right now.

I don't know if this problem is on my end, but I'm having trouble playing either of the videos on Chrome for OS X. I hit play and nothing happens. I can hit pause, but still no change. It's like it doesn't start streaming. Anyone else?

Can this be used to sync the windows and mac version of propresenter4?

The ProPresenter sync is great. Thanks so much.

I had already started syncing our motion backgrounds and a few other things via dropbox before I found this method.

The media files in dropbox are on all my Macs, but when I sync the library and other folders using Mesh the thumbnails show up with question marks. Is there a specific place I should move/store our media files so they will sync properly? Or is there another fix?

Thanks!

Thanks for the episode Brad! This is definitely a better way of doing it than dropbox. I kept trying dropbox but it just wasn't doing everything I needed. On that note, is there a way to have propresenter 4 sync with my folders…so that when I upload new worship videos…I don't also have to go in and place the media inside propresenter 4 everytime?

Having issues synching PC's together, I seem to be synching the wrong folders. I thought that on a PC the folder to synch all preferences was the c:users(name of user)Appdata
oaming
enewedvisionpropresenter4 but that doesn't seem to work. Since in your tutorial you targeted the source file from your Mac, what would be the folder on a PC?

04.05.11

You are correct in the pc folder

C > Users > nameofuser > AppData > Roaming > RenewedVision > ProPresenter4

does that folder exist on both machines?

Could you get this to work with other programs – such as Easyworship?

This tutorial was exactly what we needed. The only problem I have is finding where the system preferences are on a PC. I have no problem syncing everything between Mac's and the libraries on PC's or Mac to PC, but I can't find where to sync all my settings on the PC. Please help!

Does anyone know where to find the settings on a PC? I have everything else synced but I don't have an AppData folder on my PC. Thanx in advance!

Hey Brad,
I followed your tutorial and got three computers synced up, no problem, but then I upgraded to Lion on my work desktop and my laptop. The desktop did fine, but the laptop revolted against WLM. In the process of troubleshooting, I uninstalled WLM from all three computers, and then reinstalled it. But now, I can't find the folders that I need to sync. (I'm sure it's not Lion and probably more just my ineptitude at tracking down these files.) Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

could this work for ProPresenter 3?

04.05.11

I couldn't get this to work between a Mac running Lion and a PC running Windows 7… it would literally sync everything but the playlist. I then tried between the Lion machine and a Snow Leopard machine and the sync worked fine… so I am not sure what's wrong. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello, does anyone know how to get an automatic sync of everything in ProPresenter 5? Does this same method work? I could never get this method to work on Windows 7, but I'm hoping maybe on ProPresenter 5 I can have more luck. Thanks.

Brad, we now have purchased Pro Presenter 5 for our MACs on campus, but also have PC's on campus. Plus we have some MACs off campus (lap top and tower) and a PC laptop that we would like to sync.

Is your tutorial good for version 5, Lion, and Snow Leopard and Windows XP, 7?

What tips or procedure would you use now?

Appreciate hearing back from you!

any other programs available for syncing between computers. Windows live mesh was discontinued as of March 31, 2011… Please help or revisit this tutorial please

04.05.11

does this still work under 10.8.3?
Also how can I restore pro 5 preferences from a time machine back up?

I was really hoping this would work for me after seeing the video. Live mesh is no longer available. I’ve looked into others like Dropbox, and Chronosync. They don’t seem as fluid as what live mesh was. I need to be able to sync folders between two iMacs. The trick is each Mac has 2 users. One admin and one operator. My goal is I need the pp5 library to be synced on both macs on any login I use. So admin and operator on Mac 1, and admin and office staff on Mac 2 need to be synced. Is there any easy way to do this?
